Mike Dawson

Last week on wednesday a Olympic Games ambassador came to school to tell kids about his courier of kayaking. While we were there he asked if someone wanted to wear the stuff that you wear when you do kayaking. The person who volunteered to wear the stuff was Savannah,by the way she looked crazy in that stuff and the people couldn't agree more, they were laughing hard out until the teachers made them shush. At the end we took a photo with Mike and when I looked at it I was nowhere to be seen.We looked at a video of him at the Olympic Games Stadium and it was amazing. The stadium could fit at least twelve-hundred people, inside the stadium was a cafeteria and there was a mixture of food from different countries for the people from different places.

Soccer Tips And Tricks

Hello and welcome to Thomas's soccer tips and tricks tutorial for you...if you play soccer it will be good for you in your upcoming games so up to the tips.
These tips will be good if your a goalkeeper.
Here's a tip if your a goalkeeper:When your a goalkeeper you should always move in the same direction of the ball because maybe the ball is one the right side of the goal but the goalie is on the left side of the goal and then the other team brings the ball close to the goal but the goalkeeper is still on the left side of the goal then the other team will get a goal so that's why so I think you should say to your captain to make a plan.
Here's another tip if your a goalkeeper:When your a goalkeeper you should always roll the ball under arm because if you throw the ball over arm the ball might only go a few feet away from you and then the team-mate who was supposed to get the ball has to run and then get the ball when it's just out of the goalies square then the team-mate has to dribble the ball to get it to the other team-mate but once the ball gets touched by the foot the other team can start coming in to try and get the ball then they might get it and then they could score a goal and you don't want that do you so you better follow these rules...it might actually help.
Here's one last tip if your a goalkeeper:When your a goalkeeper you should always look bigger then you are because if you look bigger then you are then you can actually move around. And here's a way to look bigger then you are and it's to put your arms out and move around a lot and then people will think it would be hard to get a goal for their team...so I hope this works for your team and future games and by the way you should tell your captain and then they could tell the person who will be goalkeeper in your next games.
Now I'll tell you some tips of why you should be in your positions in football
Here's the first one:When your a defender the easiest thing to do is if the ball if going to the other teams goal than you and the other defender should try and squash up the field which means trying to make the field smaller by moving up to maybe just before halfway of the field so then if you or the other defender gets the ball they could easily pass the ball around because then the field is smaller and all your team mates are more closer to you,and when they would get the ball maybe one team mate from the opposing team might run up to him/her and then they could easily pass the ball back to you and then you could pass the ball up towards the goal without the other team getting the ball... well they might get the ball if you don't aim properly but otherwise you got it and I hope it works for you next few games in soccer...good luck.
Here's another tip:And it's that when your a Striker, when your a Striker in soccer your goal is to bring the ball up towards the goal but also pass the ball around and when your a few metres away from the goal you could call out the name of you team mate that has the ball and then they could pass the ball to you and then you bring the ball closer to the goal and then shoot and then hopefully get the ball in the goal and then make the scores even better especially when your team is winning then you will extend your lead in winning.
Here's one fact if your a  Wing:This fact tells you what to do if your a wing in football, when your position is a wing in football then you should really read this little fact or paragraph about what to do when your a wing. When your a wing you should always be a few metres in front of the defender so then there will be space for the defender to do their jobs as well.
Here's one fact is your a mid-fielder:When your a mid-fielder you should always be behind the Striker in football...well not practically behind but more next to the striker but a bit more back until your about one metre back from the Striker but when your team get's the ball you should tell the striker to move up to the goal so you could pass the ball to him if you got the ball but if there is to many people in the way of the striker then try and move around the other people and then pass the ball, but if the people are all around then you should pass the ball to make the people surrounding the striker will move away to get the ball so then you could yell for the ball and then you could pass the ball to the striker and then he/she could then get a  goal... depends on how good their aim is anyway please try this tip it will actually hopefully work.
Now up to the tricks.
Here's one of them now you must know that football is the most famous sport in the world but let's not talk about that I'll tell you one trick right now so if you play foot ball then read this small paragraph here's the trick and it's if your a defender or in any position actually but except for the goalkeeper so when you get the ball and a person from the other team come's and try's to get the ball of you then use the side of your foot where the small toe is and then kick the ball to the side and then you can go the same way as the ball and then you can pass the ball to a team mate.

My Learning This Week And The Inter School Football Tournament

Hi my name is Thomas and today I will be telling you about my work and the Inter School Football Tournament
This week on wednesday I went to the Inter School Football Tournament I played about 6-7 games at Watson Park were the Football was but my team lost 4 of our games but won 2 of our games and on our last game about a minute before the hooter went of to stop the game I had to do a corner kick and I really wanted to because I kick the ball and make the ball curve and make it go in the goal and one of my team-mates called Kye was going to kick the ball but then I asked him if I could kick and he said "yes" so I was really happy so I went to the corner with the ball and then kicked and I was lucky cause the goal was empty because all the players and the goalkeeper were about a metre away from the goal and when I kicked the ball I made it curve and then it hit one of the pole's from the goal and when the ball finished hitting the pole's it bounced away and into the goal straight past all the players and my team-mates were so happy the came up to me and gave me a high five  and they also said something and it was "that was amazing Thomas" and "how did you do that" and I was actually embarrassed because people were clapping and my parents were watching as well
Now I'll tell you about my work this week I didn't really do much work because of the Inter School Football Tournament and the Life ed truck, well in the life ed truck we did do a little bit of work but we mostly did games and sit down on the ground and listen to Quintenn the teacher of the life ed truck talk and we also watched a small clip about different variety of ways from how to say yes or no to your friend if they ask if they can play on your new bike and show you how to do wheelies and skids on your new shiny bike but when you say no your friend might get angry and then push you but then you might get angry yourself and then push him back and then he might punch or kick you in the stomach and then it might get bigger and bigger until it gets into a fight and someone gets hurt until someone might come and break it up and then your friend might run and then get your bike and then ride of.And then you try and get it back bu they ride the bike so fast you can't catch up so you might think hmm where would I go if I stole a bike then you have a idea your friend might have gone to his house so then you run to his house and then after about 10 minutes of running you find his house and you see a bike in front of the house and then you realise its yours so you sneak to the front of the house and then grab the bike and ride it to the driveway and then you ride of.
Thanks from Thomas
